Notifications
Which notifications Lalu sends, how to turn them on for this device and why an iPhone needs the app on the Home Screen.
What you can be told
Notifications come with an account. In More → Settings, then Settings in the App group, section Notifications, you choose per family:
- Reminders — a scheduled medication dose is due.
- Family activity — what the other caregivers do, such as a dose they gave or someone joining the family. A dose or a temperature reading deleted or changed by another caregiver is sent even with this category off.
- Product news.
A notification can be late or not arrive at all — check the last dose in the diary before giving a medicine.
The server never sends a medicine's name, a dose or a temperature: the words of a notification are put together on your phone from your own diary. A reminder names the medicine and asks you to check the diary — never a dose.
On this device
The switch On this device turns notifications on for this phone or computer only — each device of yours has its own. If the browser blocks notifications for the site, change it in the browser's site settings.
On iPhone and iPad, notifications work once the app is added to the Home Screen: in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen, open Lalu from there and turn On this device on.
Without notifications
The Medication time card on Today reminds you of the next dose even without notifications, without an account and offline — it is worked out on the phone from the schedules you typed. See Medication and temperature.
