Medication and temperature
What the app records about medicines and temperature, how reminders work, and what it deliberately never does.
What the app does — and what it never does
The app only records the doses you give and reminds you of the next times. It does not calculate doses or check that they are right. Dosing is set by a doctor or the medicine leaflet.
Lalu is not a medical device: it does not make diagnoses, does not interpret your entries and does not replace a doctor, a midwife or a nurse. If you are worried about your child, contact a doctor — whatever the app shows.
Logging a dose
The medication panel starts with LAST DOSE: when the last dose of the medicine you typed was given, how much and by whom — before any field, so every caregiver sees what is already in the diary before logging another. If the phone has not synced for a while, the header says so.
If a dose of the same medicine for the same child was already saved within the interval you set in its schedule (or within 4 hours when there is no schedule — this is not a dosing interval, only how far back the app looks), the app stops and asks: Open that entry or Save anyway. It works offline too.
Doses and temperature readings have no Undo bar. Deleting one takes a confirmation, every caregiver sees it struck through on the timeline for 24 hours, and the change history keeps a trace.
Schedules and reminders
More → Medication schedules keeps the schedules you type in: every few hours from the last dose, or at fixed times of day. A Medication time card on Today reminds you of the next dose — it works offline and without notifications. Give opens the medication panel; Remind me in 15 min snoozes it. When one caregiver saves the dose, the reminder clears for everyone once their phones sync.
Temperature
You record the reading, the time and the method of measurement. Every reading has the same link, About temperature in children: a fixed card with general information from paediatric sources (AAP, NHS), the same whatever value you typed. It is an educational list, not an analysis of your entries. The app never colours or assesses a reading — it only asks about a possible typo (e.g. 396 for 39.6).
