Sync and working offline

How entries reach every caregiver, what "3 pending" means and what to do when an entry needs attention.

Updated October 4, 2026

Every entry is saved on the phone first

When you tap save, the entry is stored on your phone at once — with or without a network. It never waits for the server, so the app works the same in a lift, on a plane or with the phone in airplane mode at night.

Without an account the diary lives only on this device. Once you create an account, the entries already on the phone move to it, and from then on they also go to the server.

How entries reach the others

With a network, the app sends new and changed entries to the server and fetches what the other caregivers saved. While the app is open, it checks for changes about once a minute, so another caregiver's entry usually appears within a minute or two. Sync is not instant chat: the diary is the same for everyone a moment later, not the same second.

"3 pending" and the offline banner

For the details open More → Settings, then Settings in the App group, section Data → Sync: the status, the number of entries waiting and when changes were last fetched.

When an entry needs attention

Rarely the server cannot accept an entry — for example when the child it belongs to was deleted in the meantime. Such an entry is never lost: it stays on the phone and shows under Needs attention (a red bar on the screen leads there). You can open it, correct it or discard it. One entry's problem never holds up the others — the rest keep syncing.

Two timers for the same child

Only one sleep and one feeding can run for a child at a time (and one pumping for each person). If someone already started one, the app shows when and who, and asks: End that one or Keep that one.
